Dental veneers typically take 2 to 3 appointments over the course of about 2 to 3 weeks to complete. Here’s a general breakdown of the process:
Initial Consultation: The first appointment is a consultation, where the Dr Moore or Dr Redmin will examine your teeth, discuss your goals, and decide on the type of veneers you want (porcelain or composite). They may also take X-rays and impressions of your teeth.
Preparation: During the second appointment, our dentist will prepare your teeth. This usually involves shaving a thin layer of enamel from the front of your teeth to ensure a natural fit for the veneers. The dentist will then take another set of impressions and send them to a dental lab to create custom veneers.
Placement: After about 1-2 weeks, the veneers are ready, and you’ll come in for the final appointment. The dentist will check the fit and color before bonding the veneers to your teeth with a strong adhesive.
With proper care and maintenance, veneers can last a long time. Avoid biting hard objects or grinding your teeth. If a veneer cracks or gets damaged, it may need to be replaced.
