Technology is part of our lives in so many ways that we often take it for granted. We don’t think twice about using an iPad, surfing the Internet, or getting directions from a GPS. At Moore Family Dental, we think twice – and then some – about the ways we can use technology to help you achieve excellent dental health. We also put a lot of effort into making sure you’re comfortable in the process.
Take a look around next time you’re in the office. We designed our state-of-the-art dental hygiene bays with you in mind. While you watch TV or enjoy your choice of music, we’ll use the best of modern dental technology to keep your mouth healthy.
With intraoral cameras, we can view large images of your teeth. This helps us detect problems as early as possible. The sooner we find problems, the sooner we can treat them. That’s a good thing because with early treatment, we can prevent many problems from progressing. We can also use this technology to show you what’s going on with your teeth. If you’re not brushing enough, we can show you the damage, rather than just tell you about it.
We use laser and LED fiber optic caries detection to help us identify cavities early. Again, early detection means early treatment. It’s part of our commitment to providing you with the best care.
For years, X-rays have helped dentists spot oral health issues. With digital x-rays, we can spot them sooner because this technology has capabilities that traditional x-rays do not have. We can make pictures larger, make use of contrast, and even incorporate color into the images. As an added bonus, digital x-rays reduce your exposure to radiation by more than 80%. It’s a win-win situation.
If you don’t like needles, you’ll be very happy to hear that we use the CompuDent Wand system to administer anesthetic without pain or painless injections. With its even flow, the CompuDent System makes procedures more comfortable and less intimidating.
Detecting cavities and other oral health problems early is important, but detecting oral cancer early can be life saving. With Orascoptic DK cancer screening, we check for oral lesions that can indicate cancer. The sooner such lesions are detected, the sooner they can be treated, maybe even when they’re still in the pre-cancerous stage.
We use the Picasso Lite tool, which incorporates laser technology, to make various procedures easier. It is used for certain dental and periodontal procedures, as well as some related to whitening the teeth. The goal of this particular technology is to lessen the invasiveness of procedures.
For many people, the noise of a drill is one of the worst parts of a root canal. We’ve eliminated that part of it by using electric tools; our goal, as always, is to provide you with the very best care while making you as comfortable as possible.
We use technology to make it easier for you to schedule an appointment, as well. You can give us a call at 716.835.1670 or use our online contact form, and download dental forms. You can also check us out on Facebook or Twitter. We’d love to hear from you!
