Dental PainSometimes people tell us about a friend or loved one who has stayed away from the dentist for a number of years.  In some cases, the person has a fear of needles; for other people, the fear of experiencing pain is so great that they avoid the dentist at all costs.

At Moore Family Dental, we get it.  We understand that some people have fears or concerns.  Maybe this applies to someone you know – or even to you; if so, please keep reading.  We can help.

  • Anxiety levels vary from person to person.  For some people, going to the dentist is a piece of cake.  For others, the experience produces a little bit of anxiety.  For some, it induces a full-blown panic attack.  No matter where you fall on this spectrum, we can help you.
  • Please be honest with us about how you’re feeling.  If you’re nervous, tell us.  It will help us to help you.  It’s best for you and for us if we keep the lines of communication open during your visit.  We will help you with that by asking how you are doing.  Some people who have this type of anxiety want to know about everything we’re doing before we do it.  Others prefer to close their eyes, listen to music, and relax.  Please tell us which suits you and we’ll honor your request.
  • We will not chastise, scold, or berate you.  We understand that visiting the dentist is a victory in itself, so we won’t be harsh about your absence.
  • We are nice people.  Although this may sound like a cliché, it’s true.  We have spouses, children, siblings, and parents, and we will treat you the way we would like them to be treated.
  • Our surroundings are nice, too.  You don’t have to sit in a cold, clinical office.  We have comfortable, state-of-the-art offices where you can watch TV or listen to music.  We know it helps many people feel more comfortable if they are distracted by something pleasant, so we’ve incorporated these things into our offices.
  • We work with adults and children, so we have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to help people of any age feel more comfortable during a dental visit.  Sometimes, frightened children feel more at ease when they see that their parents are calm and relaxed here; similarly, anxious parents are sometimes calmed when they see how comfortable their children are during a visit.
  • We use the latest technology for your benefit.  New technology can have new benefits, and we believe in taking full advantage of those benefits.  The CompuDent Wand, for example, is a technological innovation that allows us to deliver anesthesia without needles.  It’s a painless way to administer anesthesia, and we think that’s a very good thing.

If you call Moore Family Dental on the phone to make an appointment, you’ll get the sense that we’re nice people.  When you come into the office for your appointment, your gut feeling that we’re nice will be confirmed.  Don’t stay away from the dentist any longer; let us work with you to provide you with the dental care you need.
